(Dis)comfort

Vision loss can have serious consequences for the affected (e.g., learning disability, job loss, social exclusion and depression), as humans are used to perceiving 70-80% of information in their environment though their eyes.

Psychology

Through an installation, the project aims to communicate both scientific and artistic messages to a broad audience, such as the role of technological developments in knowledge creation (e.g., for health).

Design

This planned project explores the role of phosphenes across time, media, and disciplines. Phosphenes - a visual phenomenon that can be perceived with closed eyes - can also be used to restore vision.

Public outreach

The project is currently in the financing phase and has not yet been realised or presented to the public. Here a video (1min) of the idea.
