(Dis)comfort

The impact of a garment of my previous design concept on women’s bodily comfort was assessed. The experimental study involved 144 adult, white British women living in London, aged 18 to over 65.

Psychology

Demographic and individual differences (e.g., educational attainment) showed a more nuanced understanding of women’s reactions to the design. Black and white women could not be compared due to unequal sample size.

Design

The right combination of garment and message can radically change women’s reaction. Moreover, the experimentally assessed intervention can be easily be applied by design, media and health experts.

Public outreach

The study is in preparation for publication.
