(Dis)comfort

Elderly individuals from queer communities can often feel discomfort in their body. This is because they have difficulty finding clothing in shops that fits their (male-born) narrow hips and broad shoulders.

Psychology

Whenever possible, I invited older queer people to wear the design during the exhibitions and share their story with the public. In this safe space, I was able to promote social exchange and visibility for them.

Design

Whenever possible, I invited older people to the exhibitions and talks to wear the garments and share their story with the public. In this safe space, I facilitated social exchanges between the different groups.

Public outreach

Exhibitions (selection): Dutch Design Week (2016), Solos, Connect[ed] (2016), Design Academy Eindhoven (2016), Jerusalem Design Week, (2018).

Talks (selection): Amsterdam Museum (Speaker of round table), Jungle (International Transgender Night Amsterdam), Volkshotel (PechaKucha Amsterdam X Manifesta).

Publications (selection): Het Parool (interview newspaper), In need of (book), Timeout (interview newspaper), TransMagazine (interview magazine), Mest Kunstloc Brabant (interview for article).
